Troubleshooting the SafeTenet browser extension

The extension is installed but not showing the icon

  1. Click the puzzle piece (⋯ or jigsaw icon) in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Click the pin next to SafeTenet Browser Extension.
  3. The ST shield icon will appear next to the address bar.

The warning page does not appear on risky sites

Please check:

  1. The extension is enabled (chrome://extensions).
  2. You haven’t clicked “Proceed” for that site previously. Refresh the page.
  3. SafeTenet’s protection toggles are ON (click the ST icon → check toggles).
  4. You’re connected to the internet (SafeTenet checks risky domains in real time).

SafeTenet blocked a site I trust — how do I continue?

Go to the Block/Allow tab, and enter the trusted site and click Allow, to permit access to the site you trust.

How SafeTenet updates threats

SafeTenet refreshes threat intelligence throughout the day, including:

  • Malware & ransomware domains
  • Phishing and credential-theft sites
  • Gambling domains
  • Gaming domains
  • Adult content
  • High-risk media
  • Aggressive trackers
  • Newly registered domains (NRDs)
  • Harmful cults sites
  • Extremist sites
  • AI nudify portals
  • Dark web portals

These lists are updated live on the SafeTenet servers, so your browser stays protected automatically. You do not need to reinstall or update anything manually.

Privacy and data handling

SafeTenet is designed with your privacy uppermost in mind. Accordingly:

  • No browsing history is stored
  • No personal information is collected
  • No ads, tracking, or analytics
  • No profiling
  • No third-party data sharing
  • Website checks are anonymous and domain-only
